# Why is my excel document being converted to a PDF?

Similar to permissions, if the document you are downloading gets converted to a PDF, it is likely that the administrator did not give you permission to download it as a **.doc** file.

Ask your administrator to grant you the permission to download files as they are (i.e. **Download Original** permissions).
