# I accidentally deleted a document. Can it be restored?

If you deleted a document, there is a chance it can be recovered. 

There are two ways to do this:
1. If you are an admin, you can recover the document from the Trash. 
2. If you are not an admin, you can ask the administrator of the room to recover your file.

### Recover the document

1. From the data room interface, click Trash in the bottom left.

2. Select which files you'd like to recover by checking the boxes next to the files. Once you do this, a new menu will appear at the top.
3. Click Restore.
